XRS Cross Bars - Bed Rail Kit for Full/Mid Sized Trucks w/Tonneau Cover T-Tracks

Bought this to use on my Tacoma OR 5ft Bed with the Retrax Pro XR(aluminum, manual, with T-Slot’s). I Installed on top of it the front runner tent using the front runner quick release ten mount kit. I had to swap out the bolts that came with the front runner quick release system to the size that would work with the go Rhino system as they are smaller than what came with the front runner quick release mount. I Installed this over thanksgiving and have been driving around for a month and it has stayed on just fine. I had one bolt come loose right off the bat but after I made sure they were all tightened down after that I have had no issues. I feel fairly confident with it on this rack and it seems to hold the weight just fine.

My main worry was the T-Slot Rack design and if it would hold the way it’s designed by just clamping the pressure and i haven’t noticed it slip a bit. Works like a charm so far that hasn’t even come loose at all tight and secure. Although I do keep a small ratchet set in the truck in case anything were to come loose and some extra bolts although my extra’s are not in the black this comes in. I wish Go Rhino sold the accessories kit separately. I would love matching spare bolts for the road in case anything ever did come loose on a trail.

I wanted a less than full size/height rack and this fit the need perfectly. In total it stick a little more over the cab head than i would have liked. but i am Also amazed at how much rear view mirror visibility i kept. So i will take that trade off as i am sure my MPG is not getting hit as hard. I have noticed about a 1-2 MPG hit with everything which was more than I hoped to loose.

Overall i like the size my one complaint is the opening the retrax and pushing it back i have to make sure the handle is in the right spot on the retrax cover so it doesn’t snag the diagonal support coming from the bar’s. But it’ works just takes a little more time but i keep everything in truck bed locked up(Mostly Dry), and have the roof tent ready to go at a moments notice and keep a comparatively low profile.

Really happy so far. Hope to see some clever accessories for this half height mount some day. I.e. I have been looking for a solar shower rod that can be taken on and off quickly and not kept on all the time.
